We recently traveled through Denmark and happened to stop in a nice little place called Sakskøbing. While getting ready for bed, we noticed that some birds were happily chirping away in the woods just next to the house. So I decided to grab the recorder and record them.
Little did I know about the bats making their rounds just above my head. I only realised that I had recorded some actual bat screeches when I took the recordings into the studio back home.
In the video above you can see the spectral representation of the original recordings and the process I used to make the bats’ screeches audible with iZotope’s RX 6.
Recording device: Sony PCM-D100
