The nature reserve Thal near Balsthal in the Canton of Solothurn is host to an adventure trail called Holzweg, full of installations related to woodworking. Especially for kids, the trail is full of adventure and excitement.
But for a field recordist, the installations are full of interesting sounds and timbres ready to be captured with a microphone. So this is what I did.
Back in the studio, I took the recordings apart and, with a lot of Granular Synthesis involved, I created an aural journey through a dark world.
Recording device: Sony PCM-D100
Sample rate / bit depth (recordings): 96 kHz / 24 bit
Mastered at: 48 kHz / 24 bit
